It's Time to ... Polyurea! - 4th PDA Europe Annual Conference
A successful annual event for PDA Europe
From 15 to 17 November, PDA Europe held its fourth annual conference, which took place in Sitges, Spain. Under the title ‘It’s time to Polyurea’, the conference focused on the main current and future developments in the polyurea sector. The number of participants and the interaction at the meeting confirmed once again the importance of this event which is solely dedicated to polyurea.
The event aimed to mirror the diversity and dynamism of the industry which was clearly reflected in the conference programme. The presentations ranged from test methods for construction products over the use of polyurea in the refurbishment of water thanks to sustainability in coating. For the first time, the conference had a half-day parallel session specifically addressing the Spanish attendees.
The overall objective of the conference was to provide a practical angle to the topics discussed to ensure that the participants could take back home useful and relevant information. This ‘practical’ approach was consistent with other aspects of the conference. For example, the organisers installed a technical hot spot for all the participants. This hot spot was a desk where the attendants could ask on the spot feedback from a panel of higly qualified polyurea specialists regarding applications and properties of Polyurea.
Similar to the previous years, training courses where organised the day before the start of the conference. One session gave a general introduction to polyurea in particular addressed to the applicator and contractor. Another training focused in a very detailed way on the appropriate preparation of the metal surface which is a crucial step in ensuring a high quality application of the product.
We can conclude that this fourth annual conference was a great success. It provided the participants with the perfect balance between the recent developments in polyurea and networking opportunities.
